Award winners at the Mkazipreneur Impact Awards.
In the spirit of supporting the growth of women entrepreneurs, the fourth edition of the Mkazipreneur Impact Awards, held on 17th December 2025 at Fontis Residences Hotel, stood out as the highlight of the day.
The event brought together women from across the business landscape to celebrate their creativity, innovation, hard work, and resilience demonstrated throughout the year.
By creating a space for connection and collaboration, the awards provided women entrepreneurs with a platform to showcase their products and services, amplify their visibility, and strengthen their networks.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, Ian King, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uganda, emphasized the importance of sustained support for women entrepreneurs to enable them to grow and scale their businesses.

‘‘Empowering women directly speaks to their sources of income to grow their businesses. Through UNDP, we are aiming to create platforms to provide women with mentorship, linkages and financial support,’’ He emphasized.
Immy Nakyeyune, the founder and team lead of Mkazipreneur, also doubled down on this by stating, ‘‘Women make up the largest number of entrepreneurs in Uganda. However, majority of them do not make it to their fifth birthday due to limited access to financial resources.’’
Through these platforms, we aim to support, recognize, and empower women while helping them commercialize their creative ideas, enabling them to improve their own livelihoods and positively impact their communities.
